A half-dozen Vikings players — including four starters on defense — have been ruled out for Sunday's 2020 season finale against the Lions in Detroit.
Minnesota on Friday ruled out linebacker Eric Kendricks (calf), defensive ends Ifeadi Odenigbo (chest) and Jalyn Holmes (groin) and cornerback Cameron Dantzler (hamstring), continuing the December trend of being short-handed on defense.
The Vikings also will be without backup cornerback Chris Jones, who has started three games since debuting with Minnesota in Week 9 against the Detroit team for which he played in Week 3. Jones has a groin injury.
Minnesota also will be without Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook, who is in Florida grieving the unexpected death of his father.
Vikings kicker Dan Bailey (back) returned to practice Friday on a limited basis after missing the first two days of the week. He is listed as questionable.
The other Vikings on this week's injury report — linebackers Todd Davis (ribs) and Troy Dye (concussion/hamstring), running back Alexander Mattison (concussion), fullback C.J. Ham (quadriceps) and defensive tackle Armon Watts — fully participated Friday and did not receive a game status designation, meaning they are likely to be available.
Left tackle Riley Reiff remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. His status for Sunday has not been officially announced.
