2022 | PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

• Started each of Philadelphia's 17 games in 2022, posting career highs tackles for loss (10), sacks (11 and fumble recoveries (two). Also added 60 tackles, two passes defensed and one forced fumble.
• Started all three postseason games and totaled nine tackles, 1.0 sack and one pass defensed.

2021 | PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

• Started all 16 games he played and logged a career-high 63 total tackles, including nine for loss, 7.5 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
• Recorded four total tackles, including 1.0 sack and two QB hits at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the Wild Card Round (1/16/22).
• Posted single-season career bests and tied for the second-most pressures (58), tied for the third-most QB hits (18) and posted the sixth-most sacks (7.5) among all DTs in the NFL.

2020 | PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

• Appeared in 15 games (11 starts) and tallied 38 total tackles, including five for loss, 4.5 sacks, eight QB hits, one pass defensed and one fumble recovery.

2019 | PITTSBURGH STEELERS

• Started 13 of the 16 games he played, recording 60 tackles, including seven for loss, 4.0 sacks and one forced fumble.

2018 | PITTSBURGH STEELERS

• Played in each of the Steelers 16 games (14 starts) and registered 49 total tackles, including six for loss, 6.5 sacks, eight QB hits and one pass defensed.
• Recorded a sack in three consecutive games from Weeks 11-13.

2017 | PITTSBURGH STEELERS

• Started 12 of the 16 games he played in 2017, logging 32 total tackles, including four for loss, 2.0 sacks, five QB hits, one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
• Tallied a career-high 10 tackles against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5 (10/8).

2016 | PITTSBURGH STEELERS

• Started 13 of the 15 games he played as a rookie in 2016, logging 27 total tackles, including five for loss, 2.0 sacks, three QB hits and one fumble recovery which he returned for a touchdown.

COLLEGE - SOUTH CAROLINA STATE

• Started all 47 games he played in four seasons South Carolina State (2012-15), recording 200 tackles, including 62 for loss, 37 sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
• Tied an FCS record with 6.0 sacks in a 20-14 win over Bethune-Cookman in 2014.
• All-American defensive lineman and a two-time HBCU Defensive Player of the Year

HONORS

PREP - NORTH ROWAN (S.C.)

• Garnered all-state and all-county honors in football and was named Defensive Player of the Year twice.
• As a junior playing basketball at North Rowan High School was named conference player of the year and followed up by leading his team to the state championship as a senior.
• Lettered in football, basketball and track.

OFF THE FIELD

• Son of Yvette and Timothy Bates.
• Was inducted into the South Carolina State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022 and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Hall of Fame in 2024.
• After recording his first collegiate sack, was given the nickname of the "Gravedigger" by former South Carolina State Defensive Coordinator Mike Adams.
• First love was basketball. As a junior at North Rowan High School was named conference player of the year and followed up by leading his team to the state championship as a senior.
• Majored in sports communication.
• Has supported breast cancer awareness through the NFL's My Cause My Cleats campaign to honor his mother's previous battle.
