• In five seasons (2020-24) at BYU, started 44 of the 53 games he played, recording 224 total tackles, including 33.5 for loss, 16.5 sacks, two interceptions, two pass breakups, 25 QB hits, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
• Started all 37 games he played from 2022-24.
• As a team captain in 2024, recorded 59 total tackles, including seven for loss, 1.5 sacks and career highs in interceptions (two) and pass breakups (two).
• Despite only posting 1.5 sacks, he logged a career-high 42 pressures in his final season, according to Pro Football Focus.

• Parents are Peg and Layne.
• Has two brothers and four sisters.
• Married his wife, Alaina, in 2021.
• Served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Malaga and Madrid Spain (2017-19).
• Started an equine therapy nonprofit, Edward's Hands, with teammate Austin Riggs and volunteers with the Girl Scouts of Utah.
• Family has a ranch in Payson, where they run Edward's Hands. The name Edward's Hands comes from former BYU coach Ed Lamb's son, Edward, who benefited from equine therapy on the Batty family's ranch.
• Enjoys working on cars.
• Majored in nutritional science at BYU.
