Biography
Cordrea Tankersley joins Minnesota's practice squad after spending Weeks 2-8 on the Miami Dolphins practice squad. A third-round pick (97th overall) by Miami in the 2017 NFL Draft, Tankersley started 11 games as a rookie, recording 31 tackles and seven passes defensed in his first season. The Beech Island, South Carolina, native played in six games in 2018 before suffering a season-ending injury and missed the entirety of the 2019 season after being placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list on August 31, 2019. Tankersley was a four-year letterman at Clemson and played in 55 games with 30 starts, amassing 119 tackles, 1.0 sack, nine interceptions and 29 passes defensed. As a senior in 2016, he helped the program to the CFP National Championship and ACC titles en route to earning First Team All-America honors.
