Biography
Akers, who enters his sixth NFL season in 2025, arrives in Minnesota for his third stint with the Vikings. Previously acquired via trade by Minnesota during both the 2023 (Los Angeles Rams) and 2024 (Houston Texans) seasons, Akers signs to the team's practice squad after being released by the New Orleans Saints during roster cutdowns in August. Akers has appeared in 18 total contests with Minnesota, including 12 in 2024, and has recorded 435 yards and two touchdowns on 102 rushing attempts as a Viking. Through his first five NFL seasons (2020-24), Akers has logged 502 rushing attempts for 2,025 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has also caught 52 passes for 388 yards and four touchdowns.
