EAGAN, Minn. — Running back Dalvin Cook (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game between the Vikings and Falcons on Sunday.
Cook, the NFL's leading rusher in yards (489) and touchdowns (seven), suffered the injury in the third quarter at Seattle on Sunday Night Football. He returned for one play against the Seahawks but was unable to finish the game and was replaced by Alexander Mattison, who turned in career highs of 20 carries and 112 yards.
Mattison is likely to start in Cook's place while the Pro Bowler rests and recovers a week before Minnesota's Week 7 bye.
In addition to Cook, cornerback Kris Boyd (hamstring), return specialist K.J. Osborn (hamstring) and guard Dru Samia (wrist) have been ruled out.
Cornerback Holton Hill (foot) is listed as doubtful.
The other players who appeared on the Vikings injury report — DT Jaleel Johnson (back), C Garrett Bradbury (finger/knee) and FB C.J. Ham (shoulder) did not receive a designation for the game, meaning they are likely to be available when Minnesota (1-4) hosts Atlanta (0-5).

Friday's Falcons Injury Report: Atlanta ruled out defensive end Takkarist McKinley (groin) and safety Jaylinn Hawkins (concussion).
The Falcons also listed defensive end John Cominsky (illness) as questionable.
All other players on the report this week, including Pro Bowlers Julio Jones (hamstring) and Grady Jarrett (back), did not receive a designation and are expected to be available. Jones was limited Friday after not practicing Wednesday or Thursday. Jarrett was limited all week, as were safety Keanu Neal, linebacker Foye Oluokun and defensive end Dante Fowler, Jr.
