EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings returned to full practice at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center Wednesday for the first time since Sept. 25.
Minnesota (3-2) is back home from its two-week international jaunt and Week 6 bye, preparing to host the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) at noon (CT) Sunday, Oct. 19.
The Vikings on Friday ruled out outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (neck). Van Ginkel has been sidelined after playing eight snaps — and recording 2.0 sacks — against Cincinnati in Week 3.
Minnesota listed quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle), tackle Brian O'Neill (knee), defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (hip) and center Michael Jurgens (hamstring) as questionable.
Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell said the Vikings plan to start Carson Wentz at quarterback and have him backed up by Max Brosmer. McCarthy will serve as Minnesota's emergency QB. He will dress but only play if Wentz and Brosmer leave the game with injuries.
Linebacker Blake Cashman (hamstring) and outside linebacker Tyler Batty (knee) are on Injured Reserve-Designated for Return and listed as questionable. O'Connell anticipates Cashman and Batty will be in position to be activated before Sunday's game.
