Biography

Shepherd signs with the Minnesota Vikings practice squad after spending a short stint on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad earlier this season before being released on Nov. 15. Prior to 2021, Shepherd played two seasons for the Green Bay Packers, playing in 14 games primarily as a return specialist and shuffling from the practice squad to the active roster. In 20 kick return opportunities, Shepherd has averaged 18.7 yards per return and had a return long of 30 yards, which was recorded against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11 of 2020. Shepard has caught six passes during his time in the NFL, with his longest going for 19 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 of last season. The North Dakota State product is one of the most decorated return specialists/wide receivers in school history, finishing with the second most receptions (188), receiving yards (2,841) and fifth-most punt return yards (578) in Bison history. Shepherd was also named the NCAA Division I Championship Game Most Outstanding Player for his performance against Eastern Washington in 2018 when he hauled in five receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
