The Minnesota Vikings named Tyler Hamblin the team's director of football strategy on June 25, 2026. In his role, Hamblin will work closely with the football information systems and football quantitative methods departments, serving as a key connector between those groups and the scouting department to support player evaluation and personnel strategy.
Hamblin began his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns, spending nine seasons with the club as a scouting assistant (2017-20), football operations coordinator (2020-22) and director of football operations (2022-25). As the director of football operations, Hamblin managed football operations initiatives and worked closely with the high performance, equipment, player engagement, video and football information systems departments. Throughout his tenure in Cleveland, Hamblin contributed to scouting, football research and strategic roster decisions.
Hamblin, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and played tight end for the Crimson.
