Through his career as a player, coach and administrator in the National Football League, Paul Wiggin has been closely linked with the success of several teams.

In his role as a Vikings personnel consultant, Wiggin works with the department that is responsible for the evaluation of NFL players and advance scouting of opponents.

Wiggin first joined the Vikings in 1985 as defensive line coach in Bud Grant's final season as head coach. Wiggin coached the Vikings linemen from 1985-91 under Grant and ring of honor head coach Jerry Burns. He oversaw a line that featured future Hall of Fame defensive end Chris Doleman and All-Pro defensive tackle Keith Millard, who posted 21 and 18 sacks, respectively in 1989, earning Millard NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Wiggin's career included head coaching jobs at his alma mater, Stanford, from 1980-83 on a team that included John Elway and Darrin Nelson. From 1975-77 Wiggin was head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. His coaching career started in 1968 with the San Francisco 49ers defensive line.

As a standout DE for the Cleveland Browns from 1957-67, Wiggin never missed a game, playing in 146 straight. He earned Pro Bowl starts in 1965 and 1967 and was named to the Browns All-Time team. In 2008, he was inducted as a Cleveland Browns Legend, honoring the top players in franchise history. A two-time All-American at Stanford, Wiggin was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005. He has bachelor's and master's degrees from Stanford.

A native of Modesto, Calif., Wiggin attended Manteca Union High. He and his wife, Carolynn, have three children and eight grandchildren.
