Lexus Blunt is in her third season with the Minnesota Vikings as an assistant athletic trainer in 2025. She has previous athletic training experience working in the NFL, at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla., and covering the FHSAA Track and Field State Championships.
Blunt played a key role in the Vikings training staff receiving a resounding stamp of approval when the NFL Players Association released the results of its "free agency report cards" during the 2025 offseason, ranking second out of all 32 teams. She also helped the Vikings to a 14-3 mark and playoff appearance in 2024, the second-most wins in team history.
Prior to joining the Vikings, Blunt served as an NFL apprentice for the Houston Texans. During her first two full-time seasons with the Texans, Blunt was responsible for coordinating dentistry appointments, monitoring and administering concussion testing, and creating rehab programs for athletes. Blunt also served as the assistant athletic trainer at the University of Indianapolis from August 2019 to October 2021 where she primarily supported volleyball and women's lacrosse. Blunt's initial NFL experience was in 2018 when she worked with the Minnesota Vikings as a summer training camp intern. She also interned with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Indianapolis, Ind., native received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Indiana, where she primarily worked with the football program, but spent rotations with the wrestling and rowing teams. Blunt obtained her master's degree from Ohio University in 2018 while working as the head athletic trainer at a local high school.
