Jack Murphy is in his fourth season with the Minnesota Vikings and first as a college area scout after being promoted to his current title in June of 2026. Murphy joined the organization in 2023 as a college scout/BLESTO and held that role in his first three seasons with the team.
He previously worked as the assistant director of player personnel for Miami University in Ohio from April 2022 to June 2023. In this role, he was responsible for evaluating high school and college transfer prospects and creating weekly opponent personnel reports. He also worked with software to create a recruiting database and evaluation system.
Prior to Miami (Ohio), Murphy spent three years at Boston College working in scouting and recruiting. He also has previous experience in the NFL, working as a training camp scouting intern for the Detroit Lions in 2018.
The Westwood, Mass., native received his undergraduate degree in mass communication with a minor in sport and entertainment management from South Carolina in 2018. During his time in college, Murphy was also a student recruiting assistant for two years where he analyzed game film and organized statistical data for primarily defensive tackle prospects.
