Demitrius Washington enters his fourth season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2025 and first as an assistant general manager after being promoted to his current title in June of 2025. Washington spent his first three seasons (2022-24) with the team as vice president of football operations.
In his role, he helps manage football operations, while contributing to the executive team in decision-making. Washington, who spent 2015-21 in the San Francisco 49ers football research and development department, has 12 total seasons of NFL experience entering the 2025 season.
During Washington's first three seasons in Minnesota (2022-24), the Vikings posted a 34-17 (.667) regular-season record, including a 14-3 mark and playoff appearance in 2024, the second-most wins in team history. The team's nine-game win streak from Week 9 to Week 17 tied the third-longest win streak in club history. In 2022, his first year with the Vikings, Washington played a key role in the Vikings winning the NFC North for the first time since 2017 and tying for the third-most wins (13) in a single season in team history.
In his role as manager of football research and development for the 49ers from 2020-21, Washington oversaw the department's efforts in optimization and process improvement and developed predictive and statistical analysis for player evaluation, acquisition and strategy. He served as the 49ers analyst for the football research and development department from 2015-20, where he worked alongside Minnesota Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. During Washington's time in San Francisco, the 49ers played in two NFC Championship Games (2020 and 2022) and appeared in Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Washington got his start in the NFL as a game charter intern for the Cleveland Browns from 2013-15, where he assisted the scouting and personnel department in gathering information, charting non-box score play information by breaking down game film and performed weekly data entry.
Washington received his bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Central Arkansas in 2011. He also obtained his Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance and analytics from Missouri in 2014.
