Connor Whicker enters his fourth season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2025 and first as associate head athletic trainer, following three seasons as an assistant athletic trainer (2022-24). Whicker is responsible for providing high-level healthcare services for the team, including the prevention, evaluation, clinical management and rehabilitation of injuries.
In his first three seasons in Minnesota (2022-24), Whicker helped the Vikings achieve a 34-17 (.667) regular-season record, including a 14-3 mark and playoff appearance in 2024, the second-most wins in team history. He was part of the 2022 Vikings team that finished 13-4 and claimed the NFC North title.
He also played a key role in the Vikings training staff receiving a resounding stamp of approval when the NFL Players Association released the results of its "free agency report cards" during the 2025 offseason, ranking second out of all 32 teams.
Prior to joining the Vikings, Whicker served as the football assistant athletic trainer for Louisville's football team. Whicker also spent the 2020 season working as a seasonal athletic training intern with the Houston Texans after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with Arkansas football program (2018-2020). During his time with the Texans, Whicker was responsible for coordinating and implementing COVID-19 protocols to create a safe workplace. He also served as the liaison between the sports medicine staff and team physicians. Whicker's first NFL experience came in 2016 when he worked for the Carolina Panthers as a summer intern. He went on to work for the Miami Dolphins in 2017 working in the same role.
The Charlotte, N.C., native earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from High Point University in 2018 before obtaining his master's degree in sports management from Arkansas in 2020.
Whicker and his wife, Lauren, reside in Rosemount, Minn., with their sons, Kase and Brooks, and golden retriever, Bailey.
