Steve Donatell

Quality Control - Defense

Steve Donatell joins the Vikings as a defensive quality control assistant for his first season in the NFL and fifth year coaching. He previously served as the defensive quality control analyst for Stanford University for the past three seasons.

Prior to his time at Stanford, Donatell was an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was in charge of the outside linebackers. In his only season in Chattanooga, the Mocs boasted the top defense in the Southern Conference.

Donatell began his collegiate career as a linebacker at Wake Forest, where he and Vikings assistant defensive line coach A'Lique Terry were teammates for the 2014-15 seasons. A team captain as a senior, he was named ACC Academic All-Conference in 2015 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications. He then spent the 2016 season as a graduate transfer tight end at Western Kentucky, posting 13 receptions, 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
