Derek Warehime brings more than two decades of collegiate coaching experience to Minnesota and will serve as the Vikings Assistant Offensive Line Coach. He was previously named Kentucky's Run Game Coordinator in December of 2025 following three seasons (2023-25) as Coastal Carolina's Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator. 

Warehime spent the 2020-22 seasons as New Mexico's Offensive Coordinator and Tight Ends Coach, marking his second stint with the Lobos. He previously served as the team's tight ends coach from 2012-14, assuming run game coordinator responsibilities in 2014.

From 2017-19, Warehime was at the University of Texas where he spent his final season as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach. He coached the offensive line at the University of Houston from 2015-16 and also had stops at Sam Houston State (2010-11), Arkansas-Monticello (2008-09), Rice (2006-07) and Tulsa (2005), his alma mater. 

Warehime started 34 games at center at Tulsa from 2001-04, and he spent one season playing professionally with the Tulsa Talons of the Arena Football League. Warehime and his wife Kelly have three children – daughters Kaysen and Kylee and son, Miller Hayes.
