EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Vikings coaches and players will be participating in the Salute to Service initiative by wearing specially created sideline apparel on Sunday at Washington and the following week when Minnesota hosts the Los Angeles Rams.
Salute to Service is an annual campaign that has raised more than $17 million for military nonprofit partners of the NFL. This year, the NFL committed to donating $5 for every use of #SalutetoService on Twitter to its military nonprofit partners, up to a total of $5 million, for Pat Tillman Foundation, TAPS, USO and Wounded Warrior Project.
Players will wear helmet decals honoring branches of the military this Sunday and next.
A total of 33 Vikings on the 53-man roster have specifically selected decals to honor close connections to members of the military:
