EAGAN, Minn. — On the NFL's final day of 2025 for teams to become "buyers" or "sellers" via trades, the Vikings did neither.
Instead, Minnesota, which at 4-4 happens to be the NFL's only .500 team through nine weeks of the regular season, is focused on building off Sunday's win at Detroit to improve to 2-0 in a contentious NFC North. That means preparing for the unique attack of a Baltimore Ravens (3-5) squad that has won its past two out of a Week 7 bye.
Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell was asked Monday about the pending NFL trade deadline, which hit at 3 p.m. (CT) Tuesday.
"I think you're always having conversations, and [General Manager] Kwesi [Adofo-Mensah] and his staff do a phenomenal job of just gauging what possibilities may be out there," O'Connell said.
"If there's a way to improve our team, obviously, that's something we're going to have dialog and collaborate about," he continued. "But ultimately, it feels almost like, just the way we've been able to get a little bit more healthy, it feels like a lot of the players are in this building right now. They just are finally getting a chance to get out there with their teammates and play in the original intent of what we hoped."
In each of the three previous seasons an injury just before the trade deadline prompted Minnesota to make a deal (acquiring TE T.J. Hockenson in 2022 after an injury Irv Smith, Jr., QB Joshua Dobbs in 2023 after Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles and T Cam Robinson after Chrisitan Darrisaw suffered a season-ending knee injury).
This time, however, the roster showed the effects of being healthier in Week 9 than earlier in the season.
Minnesota will host Baltimore in Week 10 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kickoff is noon (CT) Sunday.
