Vikings Rivalries

The Vikings Rivalries uniform is the embodiment of the North. More than a place, the North is a mindset. A standard. A way of life shaped by resilience, unity and a readiness to rise to the occasion, forged by the Vikings of the past and reflected in who we are today.

Ancient Viking warriors wore practical armor for everyday conflict. But for their most significant battles, they donned their finest regalia, choosing their most valuable, meaningful and symbolic pieces as a reflection of the importance of the moment.

Inspired by that tradition, Vikings players will now take the field in an elevated uniform worthy of an NFC North rivalry.

The Vikings will debut the Rivalries uniform during the team's first-ever Rivalries Game on Dec. 20 against the Detroit Lions at U.S. Bank Stadium, presented by Miller Lite.

The Vikings Rivalries uniform draws inspiration from the textures of Viking armor — natural materials such as iron, wood and stone that connect Minnesota to the ancient Viking world — and elements of Vikings game-day tradition, including runestones, the Gjallarhorn and the Skol Drum.

Color Story

Deep Purple draws inspiration from the darker purple of Vikings uniforms past. Pale Ivory takes its cue from the Gjallarhorn, bringing a more natural, earthy richness to the palette. Metallic Gold reflects the history of Viking trade and craftsmanship with precious metals.

Helmet Details

SKOL is transcribed in runic characters that were used during the Viking Age. The pointed center helmet detail evokes the nose guard found on historical Viking helmets.

New Vikings Wordmark

A new VIKINGS wordmark takes inspiration from the chiseled structure of ancient rune carvings, giving the uniform a sharper, more carved appearance.

Chiseled Numbers

The two-tone numbers are designed to appear chiseled from stone or ivory, echoing the carved appearance of ancient runes.

Nordic Knot Pattern

The Nordic knot pattern featured throughout the uniform draws from the knots found on the Gjallarhorn at U.S. Bank Stadium. On the pants, the pattern comes to a point to symbolize a sword.
