Vikings 2020 Mock Draft Tracker: Version 3.0

INDIANAPOLIS — The NFL's first big offseason event is here, as the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine gets underway this week in Indianapolis.

Coaches, general managers, scouts and other front-office personnel will descend on the city to evaluate and scout hundreds of potential NFL prospects. It's a long week for those involved, but also a necessary piece to the puzzle for draft evaluations.

The 2020 NFL Draft will be held April 23-25 in Las Vegas, with the Vikings currently scheduled to have the 25th overall pick.

We found 16 recent projections from draft analysts around the league, with the majority of the experts going with a cornerback or offensive tackle for the Vikings.

Here's a look at our third Vikings 2020 Mock Draft Tracker:

ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr.

Feb. 18, 2020

Antoine-Winfield-2-2560

The predicted pick: Antoine Winfield, Jr., S, Minnesota

Yes, this is the son of that Antoine Winfield, who was drafted by the Bills in Round 1 in 1999 and played nine seasons for the Vikings. The junior Winfield had seven interceptions last season, and while interceptions can sometimes be misleading as a projection tool for prospects, he was more than a ball hawk; he also had 88 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles. Winfield showed great range and instincts at the position, and I really liked watching his 2019 tape. Let's hope he's past the hamstring and foot injuries that prematurely ended his 2017 and 2018 seasons for the Golden Gophers. Safety might not appear to be a priority position for the Vikings, but they have salary-cap issues and could lose Anthony Harris to a big offer in free agency.

Arif Hasan of The Athletic

Feb. 24, 2020

Austin-Jackson-2560

The predicted pick: Austin Jackson, T, Southern California

In this scenario, they would likely entertain a move to the inside to guard for Riley Reiff and keep Brian O'Neill on the right. Jackson will need some work, but his smoothness and natural athleticism will allow the Vikings to continue hitting the edge on outside zones while his pass protection upside should give Kirk Cousins the time he needs.

NFL.com's Charley Casserly

Feb. 18, 2020

The pick: Austin Jackson, T, Southern California

Minnesota needs reinforcements on the O-line, especially at the edges. Jackson would be the fifth offensive tackle selected. Is he worth this pick?

NFL.com's Chad Reuter

Feb. 21, 2020

trevon diggs-2560

The predicted first-round pick: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

I just love the idea of the Diggs brothers battling in Vikings practices. The elder Diggs might win a bunch early, but Trevon will eventually learn his tricks.

The predicted second-round pick: Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Liberty

The predicted third-round pick: Ashtyn Davis, S, Cal

Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports

Feb. 23, 2020

The predicted pick: Austin Jackson, T, Southern California

Vikings RT Brian O'Neill is coming off a strong sophomore season, but Reilly Reiff, 31, is entering the final year of his deal. Jackson has prototypical size for an NFL left tackle, but he moves like someone 100 pounds lighter. He had a standout campaign for the Trojans and could be one of the top offensive linemen drafted this spring.

Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports

Feb. 19, 2020

The predicted pick: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

Diggs is a physical, press-man cornerback who can instantly replace an aging Xavier Rhodes in [Head Coach] Mike Zimmer's scheme.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports

Feb. 19, 2020

Andrew-Thomas-2560

The predicted pick: Andrew Thomas, T, Georgia

They had big problems on their line last season, and they need to get bigger. Thomas could play guard or tackle since some scouts think he needs to kick inside.

Will Brinson of CBS Sports

Feb. 13, 2020

The predicted pick: Bryce Hall, CB, Virginia

As long as Mike Zimmer is in charge, you should never be surprised when the Vikings go out and spend a first-round pick on a cornerback. That's his MO throughout his time in Minnesota, and it's worked out well.

R.J. White of CBS Sports

Feb. 12, 2020

The predicted pick: CJ Henderson, CB, Florida

Henderson has a high ceiling and should be able to handle himself when pressed into early duty.

Austin Gayle of Pro Football Focus

Feb. 24, 2020

Cameron-Dantzler-2560

The predicted pick: Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State

Dantzler will get knocked in the pre-draft process for his slight frame. He showed up to Mississippi State's campus at 160 pounds as a true freshman and has worked his way up to 185 pounds leading up to the Combine. He, however, makes up for what he lacks in weight with strong man coverage ability and ball skills. He's aggressive at the line of scrimmage and can match-and-mirror with the best cornerbacks in this class. Also, a source close to the program said Dantzler could very well run in the low 4.4s and jump over 38 [inches] in the vertical.

Kevin Hanson of Sports Illustrated

Feb. 18, 2020

The predicted pick: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

Both Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander are scheduled to become free agents, and the play of Xavier Rhodes has regressed significantly. Younger brother of Stefon, Trevon has ideal length for the position and led Alabama in pass breakups (eight) last season.

Danny Kelly of The Ringer

Feb. 19, 2020

Terrell-Lewis-2560

The predicted pick: Terrell Lewis, Edge rusher, Alabama

Long, bendy edge defender with schematic versatility and intriguing potential — but a lack of experience after suffering season-ending injuries in both 2017 and 2018.

Feb. 22, 2020

Dan Kadar of SB Nation

Feb. 24, 2020

The predicted pick: Josh Jones, T, Houston

If a talented left tackle like Jones drops into the back part of the first round, the Vikings shouldn't hesitate to take him. Veteran left tackle Riley Reiff has been average and could be shifted inside to guard if Jones is the choice. He would give the Vikings an athletic tackle who can easily mirror pass rushers.

Joe Marino of The Draft Network

Feb. 24, 2020

The predicted pick: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU

The Minnesota Vikings love to use first-round picks on cornerbacks, and it's still a glaring need on the roster. Jeff Gladney features rapid feet and fluid hips. Overall, Gladney has that blend of footwork and flexibility needed to thrive in coverage. Whether it's being aggressive to crowd routes early in the release, mirror in man coverage or play in off-man, Gladney's foundation of traits is ideal for performing at a high level.
