EAGAN, Minn. — Minnesota's running backs room is shuffling through Week 2.

The Vikings placed Jordan Mason on Injured Reserve and signed fellow running back DeeJay Dallas from the practice squad.

Additionally, Minnesota backfilled the running backs group by signing veteran Jerome Ford to the practice squad and added defensive back Maceo Beard-Aigret to the practice squad via the International Player Pathway program.

Mason led Minnesota in Week 1 with 59 rushing yards on 15 carries. He scored on a 1-yard touchdown after a Green Bay turnover and broke free for a game-high 28-yard run, but he suffered a thumb injury while helping Minnesota ground and pound 34 total carries for a net of 107 yards.

Dallas, who turned 28 Wednesday, signed to Minnesota's practice squad on Sept. 2 and was elevated Saturday. He made a thud in his Vikings debut by delivering a legal but crushing block to spring Myles Price for a career-long 68-yard kickoff return that catapulted Minnesota's comeback.

Dallas played six snaps on offense and 19 on special teams.

If Ford sounds familiar, the 2022 fifth-round pick of the Browns played against the Vikings in London last season. Ford rushed five times for 18 yards, caught two passes for 20 and returned three kickoffs 78 yards against Minnesota.

Ford spent four seasons with the Browns, during which he made 18 starts. His most productive campaign occurred in 2023, when he rushed 204 times for 813 yards and four touchdowns.

Ford signed with Washington this past March as a free agent but was waived after suffering a hamstring injury during the Commanders training camp.

Prior to his NFL career, Ford played collegiately at Alabama (2018-19) and Cincinnati (2020-21). He served as a backup in his first season with the Bearcats but still logged 483 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. As a senior, he started all 13 games and impressed with 1,319 rushing yards and a whopping 19 touchdowns, as well as 21 catches for 220 receiving yards and a score through the air. Ford earned First-Team All-AAC honors that season.

A native of Tampa, Florida, Ford attended Armwood High School.

Beard-Aigret, 26, is a native of France and will be designated as the Vikings International Player Pathways Program, providing a bonus, 17^th spot on the practice squad.

Beard-Aigret most recently played in the European Football Alliance, where he shined for the Nordic Storm and was named the Defensive Player of the Year.

He spent some time in the United Football League with the DC Defenders this spring but did not make the team's final roster.

In 2022, Beard-Aigret was drafted 23^rd overall by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL Global Draft.

Beard-Aigret's father is American, and he developed an affinity for American football in high school after playing 12 years of soccer.
