Vikings LB Eric Kendricks Teams up with The Sheridan Story for 'Sacks for Kids'

Minneapolis, MN (August 30, 2017) --- Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks is once again teaming up with The Sheridan Story to launch 'Sacks for Kids,' a campaign to raise money for local weekend food programs.

Throughout the 2017 season, Kendricks is asking Vikings fans to make a pledge of at least $1 for every sack the Vikings record. All proceeds from 'Sacks for Kids' will benefit The Sheridan Story, which partners with local schools to provide food on the weekends, when children aren't able to receive free and reduced meal programs at school.

Last season, Kendricks' Sacks for Kids campaign raised more than $20,000 for The Sheridan Story a mobile food delivery solution, providing food to children right where they are – at school. The Sheridan Story's broad network provides substantive, nutritious food directly to over 5,500 children in over 145 schools throughout the Twin Cities.

"We are thrilled to partner with Eric Kendricks again this season to fight child hunger," said Rob Williams, Executive Director of The Sheridan Story. "His support makes a huge difference as we work with the community to get food to kids right here in Minnesota."

Individuals who make at least a $1 per sack commitment or a flat donation of $40 or more will be entered to win a signed football, and those that make a pledge of $5 or more or a flat donation of at least $50 will receive a special limited-edition Eric Kendricks t-shirt. Individuals interested in making a pledge to 'Sacks for Kids' can visit www.pledgeit.org/erickendricks.

"I am honored to partner with The Sheridan Story once again this year on the Sacks for Kids campaign," said Kendricks, who is beginning his third season with the Vikings. "The Sheridan Story is a great organization that works hard to keep kids fed in the Twin Cities, and I am proud to support them and the great work they do. Childhood hunger is a serious problem all over the country and here in Minnesota, and this pledge campaign is a great way for Vikings fans to make a difference. I love knowing that every time we get a sack, we are helping feed kids in need!"
