MOBILE, Ala. — The Reese's Senior Bowl staff announced that Alabama tight end O.J. Howard had the best overall practices of any player this week in preparing for Saturday's game.
The staff of the Senior Bowl, led by Executive Director Phil Savage, announced Howard's recognition and listed several other players who stood out to them at individual positions.
Here is the list:
QB—Davis Webb, Cal
RB—Jamaal Williams, BYU
WR/TE—Cooper Kupp (receiver), Eastern Washington
OL—Dion Dawkins (guard), Temple
DL—Dalvin Tomlinson (defensive tackle), Alabama
LB—Haason Reddick, Temple
DB—Rasul Douglas (cornerback), West Virginia
ST—Jake Elliott (kicker), Memphis
Savage and Director of Publications and Digital Media Rob Lehocky noted that Douglas had root canals on Tuesday and Thursday but did not miss practices.
While those practice awards were determined through some time-tested assessments, technology continued to make its mark on analytics.
Players were tracked by Catapult Sports, which gathered information like maximum velocity, explosive movements and workload for every position group.
