The new Vikings stadium will of course be home to at least ten Vikings games on an annual basis, but the structure will be home to much more than football. In addition to the Super Bowl bid the club and state of Minnesota are working, on, it was announced on Monday that Minneapolis is one of eight finalists for the 2017-2020 Men's Final Four.

In addition to Minneapolis, the following seven cities are in the running to hold the events: Atlanta, Indianapolis, New Orleans, North Texas, Phoenix/Glendale, San Antonio and St. Louis. Minneapolis has twice before hosted the Men's Final Four (1992 and 2001).

According to the release by the NCAA, final bids are due from each city this May, with site visits to each taking place this fall. Reps from each city will then make in-person presentations during the NCAA's fall meetings with the winning bids announced this November.
