EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings have activated quarterback Kirk Cousins from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Cousins, who was placed on the list Friday, missed Sunday night's loss against Green Bay that eliminated Minnesota from playoff contention.

Cousins, in his fourth season as Minnesota's starter, has thrown for 3,971 yards with 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 15 games.

Backup quarterback Sean Mannion started against the Packers, throwing for 189 yards and a score. Rookie Kellen Mond made his NFL debut, playing just one late-game series while Mannion dealt with hand cramps.

The Vikings now have three quarterbacks on their active roster after releasing Kyle Sloter on Monday.

The Vikings also announced defensive end Tashawn Bower has been added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list and cornerback Bryan Mills has been signed to the practice squad.

Bower was brought back to Minnesota in November and has appeared in four games for the Vikings. He also played in two for the Patriots this season.

Mills is a native of Palmdale, California, who played the 2019 college season at North Carolina Central and recorded five interceptions and 13 passes defended in 12 games. He was invited to the 2021 Reese's Senior Bowl but went undrafted last spring.
