Vikings Provide Update on Kirk Cousins, Underwent Successful Surgery

EAGAN, Minn. — Kirk Cousins underwent an MRI Monday morning at Twin Cities Orthopedics that confirmed an Achilles tendon tear. The timeline and details of his upcoming surgery will be determined this week. The team will continue to provide updates.

Cousins suffered the injury without contact in Minnesota's Week 8 win at Green Bay. The injury occurred on Cousins' 61st offensive snap of his 150th career game. He was replaced by rookie Jaren Hall.

Oct. 31 update: Vikings placed Cousins on Injured Reserve.

Nov. 1 update: Kirk Cousins underwent successful surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon this morning at Twin Cities Orthopedics in Eagan, Minn. The surgery was led by Dr. Chris Coetzee. The team will continue to provide updates, as appropriate, during Cousins' recovery process.
