MINNEAPOLIS –Jackson "Jacko" Strong may be from the Land Down Under, but he showed some love to The North Saturday night at the X Games Minneapolis 2017.

Strong threw a double backflip quarterpipe transfer and scored a 91.00 to **take home the silver medal** in the Monster Energy Moto X "Best Trick" competition.

Immediately after sticking the landing, Strong unfurled a purple flag displaying the Norseman. He then tore off his helmet, sprinted to the top of the jump and proudly waved the flag to further hype up the crowd.

Following the medal ceremony, Strong, an Australia native, told Vikings.com that he had wanted to pay homage to Minneapolis.

"The flag is a respect thing," Strong said. "We're in the Vikings stadium, so out of respect we're going to fly their flag. I'm just stoked that we're able to perform here in U.S. Bank Stadium and that they wanted to have the X Games."

Added Strong: "It's the [home for] the Vikings and all their fans are here, so I wanted to make them stoked and show them how much we appreciate them."

According to ESPN, Strong is known as a "freestyle motocross innovator." In 2011, he won gold when he landed the first frontflip in competition and again led the competition in 2012. Last year, Strong suffered a neck injury and was taken to the hospital but returned in time to once again claim Moto X gold.

Saturday marked Strong's fourth X Games medal and first time taking silver. Levi Sherwood earned the gold with a score of 92.33. Clinton Moore (88.00) took home the bronze.
