12:02 PM - Chad Greenway, Kyle Rudolph, Brian Robison, Everson Griffen and Audie Cole are today's captains for the Vikings. Chicago wins the toss and elects to defer. The Vikings will start with the ball.

10:30 AM - The Vikings have released the list of players that will be inactive for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Minnesota has listed WR Laquon Treadwell, WR Stefon Diggs, G Alex Boone, T Willie Beavers, RB Adrian Peterson, QB Taylor Heinicke and RB C.J. Ham as inactive Sunday.

The Vikings will hope to start off 2017 on a positive note today as they wrap their season by hosting the Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium and, with a win, will avoid having a losing record.

While much of the focus this week was on the future of the team, Head Coach Mike Zimmer and his staff stressed the need to be focused on the task at hand and to finish the season strong. If that didn't get the player's attention, surely the 20-10 Halloween night loss earlier this year to a Bears team that has just one win since then will have Vikings players dialed in for Sunday.

The team might be a little shorthanded on offense, with G Alex Boone (lower back) and WR Stefon Diggs (hip) both being listed as doubtful, with neither practicing at all during the week. The potential loss of Boone could be somewhat offset by the return of G Brandon Fusco, who has missed time due to a concussion, but practiced in full on Friday and wasn't listed on the team's injury report.

RB Adrian Peterson (knee/groin) was ruled out on Friday as well.

Despite those absences, the offense has a chance to close the season on a positive note, specifically with Sam Bradford and Adam Thielen. Bradford has a chance to break the NFL record for completion percentage in a season, while Thielen enters the game with 960 receiving yards and could become the team's first 1,000-yard receiver since Sidney Rice in 2009.

The Bears could be missing several key pieces on defense, including LB Leonard Floyd, who didn't practice this week due to a concussion and is listed as doubtful. They will for sure be without LB Pernell McPhee, who was ruled out on Saturday due to a shoulder injury.

On offense for Chicago, they will have a different quarterback this time around against the Vikings, with Matt Barkley looking to continue his mostly solid play filling in for the injured Jay Cutler. Joining him in the backfield will be RB Jordan Howard, who ran over the Vikings in October for a season-high 153 yards. His season total sits at 1,178 and the Bears will likely try and replicate their previous success against the Vikings on the ground this Sunday.

The Vikings are fairly healthy on defense though a mid-week knee injury to S Andrew Sendejo will keep him sidelined today, with Anthony Harris and/or Jayron Kearse filling in for him alongside Harrison Smith.
