Vikings Postgame Report: The Vikings Defeat The Falcons 31-28, QB Joshua Dobbs Leads The Comeback | ATL | Week 9
Welcome to the Week 9 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. Â The Vikings won a thrilling comeback victory 31-28, down in Atlanta. Â The Vikings saw a host of personnel substitutions take place in the game, including at the quarterback position. Â Rookie quarterback Jaren Hall started the game and played well until an injury at the goal line in the 1st Quarter sidelined him for the rest of the contest. Â Newly acquired quarterback Josh Dobbs stepped in for the rest of the game and led a go-ahead drive in the final 2 minutes of the game to secure the victory. Â Dobbs finished the game 20-of-30 passing for 158 yards and two touchdowns, plus he added another 66 yards rushing and a score on the ground. Â Running back Alexander Mattison and receiver Brandon Powell caught the two passing scores, while tight end T.J. Hockenson led the receiving corps with 7 receptions for 69 yards. Â Defensively, the crew was opportunistic. Â Cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. snagged an interception and Safety Josh Metellus pounced on a fumble, with both turnovers leading to the offense adding an additional 10 points. Â Linebacker Jordan Hicks led the team with 11 tackles and recorded the lone Vikings sack for the game. Â Kicker Greg Joseph was perfect on the day, kicking three field goals and two extra points. Â The Vikings will now come home and finish out their NFC South schedule against the Saints next Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
