Vikings Postgame Report: The Vikings Defeat The Commanders 31-0, Improve to 5-8 - Wk 14
Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report presented by Lumen - The trusted network of A.I. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Washington Commanders 31-0 at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. The Vikings were determined to get back on track, and it showed. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy had his first 3 TD passing game of his career in route to the 31-0 victory. McCarthy ended the game completing 16-of-23 passing for 163 yards, 3 TD's and added 19 yards rushing on the ground. Running Back Aaron Jones Sr. led the running game with 14 carries for 76 yards, while Running Back Jordan Mason added 52 yards and a score. Wide Receiver Jordan Addison led the Vikings receiving game with 4 catches for 62 yards, but Tight End Josh Oliver added 2 touchdowns, and Tight End T.J. Hockenson added another. Kicker Will Reichard had another perfect day, converting a 45-yard field goal and 4 XP's. Defensively, the guys turned up the heat on Washington Quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota. Linebacker Blake Cashman led the defense with 10 tackles, while Defensive Tackle Jalen Redmond and Linebacker Eric Wilson each added a sack. Outside Linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel and Safety Harrison Smith both grabbed interceptions in the 3rd Quarter of the game, while Defensive Tackle Javon Hargrave forced and recovered a fumble in the 4th Quarter.
