Vikings Sign Former Chargers CB Derek Cox

The Vikings have signed free agent CB Derek Cox, the club announced on Friday.

Cox joins the Minnesota Vikings as an unrestricted free agent after spending the 2013 season with the San Diego Chargers. Cox, a 3rd-round pick (73rd overall) by Jacksonville in 2009, has started 53-of-63 games he has appeared in. In 16 games during the 2013 season, Cox recorded 34 tackles, 1 interception and 7 passes defensed. In the first 6 years of his NFL career, he intercepted 4 passes in 3 different seasons (2009, 2010, 2012). A graduate of William & Mary, Cox has recorded 204 tackles, 13 interceptions and 39 passes defensed.
