Vikings Set To Host Alumni Weekend

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — A family reunion of sorts is scheduled at Winter Park and area sites for Minnesota Vikings Alumni Weekend.

Nearly 40 alumni are scheduled to participate in various events highlighted by three autograph sessions that are open to fans, a youth football clinic and on-field recognition when Minnesota (3-5) hosts Washington (3-5) at noon (CT) Sunday at TCF Bank Stadium and three autograph sessions that are open to fans.

Alumni are scheduled to attend Saturday morning's walk-through practice, followed by a catered lunch at the team headquarters. Some alumni will then attend an autograph session at Mall of America, and others will hold a youth football clinic at Fairview Park, 621 29th Ave. North, Minneapolis.

Saturday's autograph session is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. at Sears Court. Alumni members scheduled to sign are: Walker Lee Ashley (LB, 1983-88, 1990), Matthew Hatchette (WR, 1997-2000), Brent McClanahan (RB, 1973-80), Oscar Reed (RB, 1968-74), Jesse Solomon (LB, 1986-89) and Doug Sutherland (DT, 1971-81).

Alumni scheduled to attend the youth football camp are: Tyrone Carter (S, 2000-01), Greg Coleman (P, 1978-87), Carl Eller (DE, 1964-78), Carl Hilton (TE, 1986-89), Tom Munsey (RB drafted in 1963), Frank Ori (G, 1978), John Swain (CB, 1981-84), Stu Voigt (TE, 1970-80) and Rickey Young (RB, 1978-83).

 Alumni will then take a look into the Vikings future that evening when they attend a reception at the New Stadium Preview Center, which has models and interactive displays of the building that is approximately 25 percent complete.

A pair of autograph sessions are also scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

John Turner (S, 1978-83, 1985, 1987) and Rickey Young (RB, 1978-83) are scheduled to sign at the Fan Zone in front of Mariucci Arena.

Carl Eller (DE, 1964-78) and Carl Lee (CB, 1983-93) are scheduled to sign at the McNamara Alumni Center.
