The Vikings have announced that the club has placed LB Michael Mauti on injured reserve.

To take his place on the 53-man roster, the Vikings have signed T Carter Bykowski from the 49ers practice squad. Bykowski (by-COW-skee) has spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons on San Francisco's practice squad. A 7th-round pick (#246 overall) by the 49ers in 2013, he has spent the past two training camps and preseasons with the team before being placed on their practice squad. Bykowski, an Eden Prairie, MN native and graduate of Eden Prairie High School, played his final three years at Iowa State at tackle after entering college as a tight end. Bykowski was named AP All-Big 12 honorable mention as a senior in 2012.
