The Vikings held a moment of silence prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony at U.S. Bank Stadium to honor former Head Coach Dennis Green, who passed away on Friday.
Green coached the Vikings for 10 seasons (1992-2001) and reached the playoffs eight times in Minnesota. Throughout his successful career in the NFL, his impact reached far beyond the gridiron.
Here is some of the Twitter reaction honoring Green's legacy:
Rest in peace Denny. I lost my mother in April, I feel like I just lost father.— robert smith (@Robert26Smith) July 22, 2016
Just got the news of the passing of Denny Green. He did so much for me. Was looking forward to saying thanks at HOF. Tomorrow not promised.— Tony Dungy (@TonyDungy) July 22, 2016

Here's something we may never see again ... Denny Green made the playoffs eight times as Vikings coach with seven different quarterbacks.— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) July 22, 2016
Tough day. Huge loss. I can't imagine what my life would have been if not for the opportunity to work with Denny. RIP, Coach.— Brian Billick (@CoachBillick) July 22, 2016
