EAGAN, Minn. — Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell on Wednesday announced the team is opening the 21-day evaluation window for center Ryan Kelly.

Kelly, a four-time Pro Bowler during his nine seasons with Indianapolis, signed with Minnesota this offseason.

His time in Purple, however, has been limited due to suffering a concussion in Week 2 against Atlanta and another in Week 4 against Pittsburgh in Dublin.

Kelly played all 56 of Minnesota's 2025 season opener at Chicago but left Minnesota's Week 2 game after 23 offensive snaps and the Week 4 game after 34 snaps.

Michael Jurgens, a 2024 seventh-round selection, replaced Kelly against the Falcons and played the first 24 offensive snaps of his career. He started the following Week against the Bengals, taking all 60 offensive snaps, and relieved Kelly again in Dublin, playing 42 snaps.

Jurgens dealt with a hamstring injury in that game, and the Vikings pivoted to Blake Brandel, who played center for the first time of his career in Week 5 against the Browns in London. Brandel had started at left guard against Pittsburgh.

Jurgens played two snaps at center against Philadelphia when Brandel's face mask was damaged, but Brandel has handled every other snap at center since Week 5.

The Vikings have 21 days to assess Kelly and determine if they activate him from Injured Reserve to the 53-man roster.

Minnesota (4-5) hosts Chicago (6-3) at noon (CT) Sunday in Week 11.
