Minnesota's 15-10 victory against Miami Sunday suddenly turned into a lesson of spatial geometry, with the Vikings measuring success several different units.
1. Inches
With 12:40 left in the first half, Miami quarterback Malik Willis connected on a deep ball to Chris Bell, who took it 68 yards for a touchdown to give the Dolphins a 7-3 lead. But Bell had stepped out-of-bounds by a just a toe before coming back in to make the grab, not only negating the explosive play, but also wiping away Miami's momentum.
Later in the second quarter, another pair of plays were decided by mere inches. An incomplete pass by Willis was challenged by the Vikings and eventually overturned into a Dallas Turner strip-sack recovered by Blake Cashman. On Miami's next possession, a potential roughing-the-punter penalty against Minnesota was nullified when Ivan Pace, Jr., got just a couple of fingertips on the ball prior to making contact with Dolphins punter Bradley Pinion.
2. Feet
Will Reichard's right foot continued its historic assault on the record books. The third-year kicker was a perfect 5-for-5 on the day (from 47, 50, 33, 41 and 29 yards), totaling 600 feet of field goal distance. Reichard has made 31 consecutive field goals (spanning 3,912 total feet), which is the longest active streak in the NFL.
3. Yards
After finishing each of their first three games with fewer than 250 yards of total offense, the Vikings quietly generated a season-high 336 yards. Leading the way was tight end T.J. Hockenson, who matched a career high in receptions (13) for 119 yards. Hockenson could have tacked on two more yards to his total on his final catch of the day, but made a savvy veteran move by sliding down short of the goal line, icing the game for Minnesota.
Sunday's win not only pushed Minnesota's win streak to nine consecutive dating back to last season (tied for the third-longest in franchise history), it also created some slight movement in this week's power rankings, with the biggest jump being two spots.
Here's a look at where the Vikings landed heading into Week 5:

No. 11 (down 2 spots): Nick Shook – NFL.com
I'll admit that I'm not buying in. I think the Vikings are one of the most fraudulent 4-0 teams you'll ever see. Through four weeks, nobody has rankled them.
No. 6 (no change): Maurice Moton – Bleacher Report
The Minnesota Vikings had the least impressive Week 4 win, eking one out over the winless Miami Dolphins, who lost their best offensive playmaker, running back De'Von Achane, for the season [in Week 3].
Justin Jefferson didn't play last week, but even with him on the field, Kyler Murray has struggled in Head Coach Kevin O'Connell's system. He's thrown just one touchdown pass since he returned from a concussion in Week 3.
No. 3 (up 1 spot): Pete Prisco – CBS Sports
[The Vikings] are undefeated, but the offense still looks off. The defense is definitely carrying this team right now, but the offense has to pick it up.
No. 9 (down 2 spots): Nate Davis – USA Today
As great as [Minnesota's] swarming defense has been, let's not lose sight of All-Pro K Will Reichard, [who is tied for the] league-high [with] 42 points.
No. 7 (no change): Josh Kendall and Chad Graff – The Athletic
What is going on with this offense? The Vikings are 4-0 despite failing to score an offensive touchdown in two of their games. Brian Flores is flexing his defensive chops.
No. 13 (down 2 spots): Conor Orr – Sports Illustrated
Despite the fact that this Brandon Staley-led Saints defense was put into a blender by Michael Penix, Jr., and Tommy Rees on Monday Night Football, I think this week will be a bellwether game for Kyler Murray, who will now have a decent sample size against Carson Wentz with three starts under his belt.
No. 6 (down 1 spot): Vinnie Iyer – Sporting News
The Vikings are getting the job done with defense and field goals while they are working on kinks. The Saints and Colts are up next around a bye.
No. 9 (no change): Frank Schwab – Yahoo! Sports
The Vikings offense has not been good. Not having Kyler Murray for a full game and most of a second is a reasonable excuse, as is missing Justin Jefferson for almost two full games. We'll see if the offense looks much better with Jefferson back and Murray healthy. Minnesota is going to take a step back if the offense doesn't get better, no matter how good the defense is.
