The Minnesota Vikings community is a tight-knit one.
For the second year in a row, a group of Vikings bloggers is proving that to be true.
In 2015, Vikings Territory founder Adam Warwas created and headed the **#MoreThanWords campaign** to raise funds for linebacker Chad Greenway's Lead the Way Foundation.
"Last year, working with Greenway's Lead the Way Foundation, we raised about $5,000 for the 'Chad's Locker' program," Warwas told Vikings.com. "It's rewarding to know that Vikings fans came together one offseason to do something great, and that young people in need are going to benefit from that for years to come. That is just one more way of showing that the Minnesota Vikings have the most caring and passionate fan base in the NFL."
The #MoreThanWords campaign is kicking off again, this time to directly support the **Mike Zimmer Foundation**.
"[Vikings Head Coach] Mike Zimmer is a leader in every sense of the word," Warwas said. "His decision to use his influence, his voice, to better the world is an exact match in terms of the #MoreThanWords mission.
"He's a busy guy, he doesn't need to do that – but he does it anyway," Warwas added. "We're just following the example set by Coach Zimmer, Chad Greenway, and the many others that prove they care about the community through their actions."
The #MoreThanWords drive officially starts Wednesday, June 1, and will run through July 15. The blogging community has established a $10,000 goal, and a number of incentives will appeal to Vikings fans to help reach that benchmark. In addition to a couple of items to be gifted by participating sites, the Mike Zimmer Foundation is providing the following items to be randomly given away to participants in July:
• Autographed Adrian Peterson Jersey
• Two club level tickets to the Nov. 20 game against Arizona at U.S. Bank Stadium
• Meeting Zimmer in person and receiving a signed game ball
• All four of the foundation's T-Shirt designs ($25 value each)
• A game ball signed by Anthony Barr
An individual will be entered in the drawing after making a minimum donation of $10; for each additional $10 donation, his or her name will be placed in the pool another time. Staff members of participating sites will not be eligible to win.
Platforms joining Vikings Territory in the efforts include Daily Norseman, Vikings Corner, Purple FTW! and Cold Omaha.
