Manny Laureano To Perform National Anthem

A highly accomplished trumpet player will help pay tribute to survivors and victims of the attack on Pearl Harbor that occurred 73 years ago this Sunday.

Manny Laureano, the Principal Trumpet for the Minnesota Orchestra, will perform the National Anthem before the Vikings host the Jets at TCF Bank Stadium.

Laureano, who joined the Minnesota Orchestra in 1981, has performed solos in all the Orchestra's concert series and served as an assistant conductor during its 2005-06 season. His conducting talents remain in demand.

The New York native began playing trumpet in the public school system and later studied with James Smith while at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts and with William Vacchiano of the New York Philharmonic.

Laureano and his wife, Claudette, serve as co-artistic directors of the Minnesota Youth Symphonies. In 2006, he led the ¡Viva Latino! series of Minnesota Orchestra Young People's Concerts.
