Lunchbreak: Vikings Front 7 Tabbed as League's Deepest

Across the league, teams have worked to bolster their rosters and create as much depth as possible.

Some teams have deeper position groups than others, however, and NFL.com's Chris Wesseling recently delved in and created a list of the NFL's deepest position groups.

After topping the list with Philadelphia's defensive line, Wesseling took some liberty and **highlighted the Vikings entire front seven** – rather than a specific position. He wrote:

Head coach Mike Zimmer's front seven may be even deeper than [Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jim] Schwartz's. It starts on the line, where Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter form one of the most explosive and relentless bookend tandems in the league, terrorizing overmatched tackles to put the heat on opposing quarterbacks. Already one of the league's most reliable run-pluggers, nose tackle Linval Joseph has help on the interior with the arrival of enigmatic former Defensive Rookie of the Year Sheldon Richardson.

Wesseling pointed out that fourth-round picks Jaleel Johnson and Jalyn Holmes, who were drafted in 2017 and 2018, respectively, add depth to Minnesota's line. He went on to say that the Vikings "have an advantage" over the Eagles at linebacker, led by former UCLA teammates Eric Kendricks and Anthony Barr.

At a time when offensive-line quality is down across the league, Minnesota is far from alone in boasting a stout defensive front. The overhauled Buccaneers join the Jaguars, Panthers and Rams as organizations that also deserve recognition for assembling deep front sevens.

Which other position groups across the league did Wesseling praise?

Behind the Vikings, Wesseling listed the Cowboys offensive line, Saints secondary, Falcons wide receivers and Browns linebackers.
