TAMPA — The Minnesota Vikings announced the following players will be inactive for their Week 3 game of 2026 at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

Cornerback Zemaiah Vaughn

Safety Jakobe Thomas

Quarterback J.J. McCarthy (3^rd QB)

Punter Brett Thorson

Safety Tavierre Thomas

Tackle Caleb Tiernan

Defensive lineman Elijah Williams

Vaughn, Thomas, Tiernan and Williams are inactive for the third consecutive week.

McCarthy will dress but is only eligible to play if Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz suffer injuries.

Thorson suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2. Veteran Johnny Hekker will punt in his place.

Thomas had been elevated from the practice squad on Saturday when Ivan Pace, Jr., did not travel with the team because of a personal reason. Pace was able to join the Vikings in Tampa and is expected to be available.

Buccaneers Inactives

Tampa Bay announced the following players will be inactive:

Outside linebacker Rueben Bain, Jr.

Cornerback Ayden Garnes

Linebacker Josiah Trotter

Defensive lineman Rakeem Nuñez-Roches

Guard Luke Haggard

Guard Billy Schrauth
