How to Watch, Listen & Stream Vikings at Broncos 2026 Preseason Week 3 Game

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings are concluding their 2026 preseason slate by visiting the Denver Broncos at 8 p.m. (CT) Friday, Aug. 28.

This contest follows Minnesota's exhibition contests at the New York Giants (a 13-10 Vikings win) and at home against the Baltimore Ravens (a 13-3 loss), which followed two days of joint practices.

Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell (third quarter) and running back Aaron Jones, Sr., (fourth quarter) are scheduled to join the simulcast.

Minnesota's plan for which quarterbacks play remained in flux as of O'Connell's media session, although he does plan to rest starters, including QB Kyler Murray.

J.J. McCarthy has been working through an ankle injury he suffered after taking multiple hits in Minnesota's second preseason game. He did not participate in Wednesday's practice, which was designed to be like a scrimmage. Carson Wentz handled second-team reps.

"We're going to give him a rest day today just to see if we can put the ankle behind him a little bit," O'Connell said. "He's gotten some work. We kind of split the reps [Tuesday] just to not overload him and with hopes of, all along, we really wanted him to be able to start this final preseason game, and we'll work off that. If we feel good about getting him those really important reps, we will, but I'll keep you guys posted."

O'Connell said the team was still working through the "full plan" but expects Wentz will play in the game, as well as Max Brosmer.

One thing more certain is the likely pro debut of third-round pick Jakobe Thomas at safety. Thomas was dealing with back tightness during the first two weeks of the preseason but returned to full participation in practice this week.
