Vikings Sign Abdullah to 53-Man Roster; Elevate Mannion and Dorn

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Saturday announced the signing of running back Ameer Abdullah from their practice squad to their 53-man roster.

Minnesota waived tight end Brandon Dillon in order to make room for Abdullah.

The Vikings also used their two standard elevations from the practice squad to bring quarterback Sean Mannion and safety Myles Dorn to their active roster.

Abdullah and Mannion were the two players elevated for Minnesota's Week 1 contest at Cincinnati.

Abdullah rushed one time for a gain of 4 and caught two passes that totaled 15 yards against the Bengals. He played nine snaps on offense and five on special teams. Mannion backed up Kirk Cousins, who played the entire Week 1 game.

Dillon played 22 snaps on special teams but did not participate on offense last week.

The Vikings (0-1) are scheduled to play the Cardinals (1-0) at 3:05 p.m. (CT) Sunday.
