After going through **media interviews** on Sunday, the cornerbacks took to the field Monday to cap off the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.
Standout cornerbacks from across the country participated in timing and testing drills at Lucas Oil Stadium, striving to best showcase their speed and agility to NFL coaches and scouting personnel.
This year's cornerbacks made a splash, with two setting new combine records for their position.
Jordan Thomas (Oklahoma) completed the 3-cone drill in 6.28 seconds, breaking the previous record of 6.44 seconds set in 2011 by Buster Skrine. Avonte Maddox (Pittsburgh) ran the 60-yard shuttle in 10.72 seconds, breaking the previous record – set by Jamell Fleming in 2012 – by just three-hundredths of a second.
Denzel Ward, ranked as the top corner by NFL Media analysts Mike Mayock and Bucky Brooks, finished first in the broad jump (11 feet, 4 inches), tied with Donte Jackson and Parry Nickerson for first in the 40-yard dash (4.32 seconds) and tied with Quenton Meeks for second place in the vertical jump (39 inches).
