Facts to Know

New York Giants

  • The Giants added three new quarterbacks this year, signing veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency and drafting former Mississippi QB Jaxson Dart with the 25th overall pick.
  • New York traded back into Round 1 in April's draft to select Dart after using the No. 3 pick on former Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter, who paced the country with 24 tackles for loss in 2024.
  • Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll is entering his fourth season at the helm in New York. Through his first three seasons, he is 18-32-1 and 1-1 in the postseason.

Minnesota Vikings

  • DL Jonathan Allen, who joined Minnesota in free agency after eight seasons in Washington, has 42 career sacks – and more against the Giants (6.5) than any other opponent.
  • OLB Andrew Van Ginkel recorded his first of two pick sixes last season in his Vikings debut in Week 1 at the Giants. The 2024 Second-Team All-Pro signed an extension with Minnesota this spring.
  • The Vikings will see a familiar face in Giants defensive line coach Andre Patterson. Patterson previously held the same position in Minnesota before serving as Co-Defensive Coordinator in 2020 and 2021. Also, Giants Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator Mike Kafka is a former quarterback who spent the 2015 offseason with Minnesota, and receiver/returner Ihmir Smith-Marsette was a 2021 fifth-round pick of the Vikings who's been with New York since 2024.
