EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Tuesday announced the signing of running back Xazavian Valladay and offensive lineman Zack Bailey.

Additionally, the team announced it has waived linebacker Max Tooley.

Valladay first entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Texans in May 2023. After a stint with the Steelers, he joined the Jets that season. He logged 12 special teams snaps as he made his lone regular-season appearance so far in the final game of 2023.

The Illinois native spent part of the 2024 season on the Saints practice squad and was with New Orleans this offseason until he was waived in June.

Valladay played college football at Wyoming and Arizona State.

In four seasons at Wyoming, Valladay totaled 3,281 years and 19 touchdowns on 626 carries. He added 584 yards and two scores through the air on 51 receptions.

As a sophomore in 2019, he led the Mountain West with 247 rush attempts and 1,265 yards to garner First-Team All-Mountain West honors. He re-earned the designation the following season, which was limited to five games, before garnering second-team all-conference designations in 2021 (Mountain West) and 2022 (Pac-12).

As a fifth-year senior at Arizona State, he topped the Pac-12 with 215 rush attempts, 16 touchdowns on the ground and 18 total touchdowns. He totaled 1,192 rushing yards and 289 receiving yards for the Sun Devils.

Bailey is returning to the Vikings after spending part of the 2020 season on the practice squad, as well as the 2021 offseason with the team.

The South Carolina product played in one game for the Chargers in 2022 and one game for the Jets in 2024. He was released by the Jets in June.
