WR Spotlight: Parker and Teddy Reunite?

Each day for the duration of the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, vikings.com will profile one wide receiver from this year's draft class.

The Vikings didn't need the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine to get the skinny on the subject of today's WR Spotlight. Well, they actually are best-served to continue their own thorough evaluation here in Indianapolis. But when it comes to DeVante Parker, there is already one member of the organization who knows him well.

Teddy Bridgewater.

Bridgewater and Parker played three seasons together at the University of Louisville. The duo combined for 113 receptions for 1,920 yards and 28 touchdowns from 2011-13. Parker, who is listed on NFL.com at 6-3, 211 pounds, played without Bridgewater last season at Louisville and caught 43 passes for 855 yards and five touchdowns.

"We have connections, so that'd be good," Parker said of playing once again with Bridgewater. "We already knew what Teddy could do, he was prepared the whole time. People doubted him, he just proved everybody wrong."

Many coaches and GMs have declared this year's WR class to be another deep one, and Parker ranks among the best. His athleticism in combination with his production at Louisville and his size will likely lead to him going in the first half of the first round. NFL Network's Mike Mayock has him ranked third in his positional rankings and fellow NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah has Parker going to the Vikings in his most recent mock draft. Of the four mock drafts on this page, no one has Parker lasting past No. 16.

If the Vikings pass on a WR in the first round, a potential target is the subject of yesterday's WR Spotlight – Dorial Green-Beckham. But if the Vikings covet a receiver with their first-round pick, a Bridgewater-Parker reunion may be the outcome.
