Wobcast Highlights: Keenum an MVP Candidate? Lions Thanksgiving Rematch

The Vikings are slated to take on the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Thanksgiving Day for the second year in a row on Thursday.

Vikings.com's Mike Wobschall and I preview one of the biggest games of the year with the help of a special guest in left tackle Riley Reiff. Reiff signed with the Vikings this offseason after five seasons with Detroit.

Wobby and I take fan mail, bring up some neews and notes, and set our own Thanksgiving Day Food Power Rankings.

Below are some of the highlights from this edition of the Wobcast:

02:38: News and notes

Wobby and I tackle some news and notes around the Vikings as the team is 5-2 playing on this holiday.

The current six-game winning streak is the second-longest winning streak under Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer (8 regular season games from 2015-2016).

Minnesota held the league's top offense to just seven points, and zero points after the first drive on Sunday.

Wobby goes to the drawing board to find out that opponents are averaging 10.8 points per-game fewer against the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.

04:40: Zimmer's interview with Prime

Outside of winning the game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams 24-7, this was the best thing that happened.

Zimmer sits down postgame for a FaceTime call with his former player Deion Sanders of the NFL Network. It's worth a listen.

08:01: Pro Football Talk's article on Case Keenum's value

We review an article from Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, that analyzes some of the contracts that were signed by quarterbacks in the NFL this offseason.

Smith writes about the value of each of these players, discusses the value of Case Keenum and explains why he's being mentioned by the experts in the MVP conversation.

Wobby reviews the successful offseason the Vikings had and the acquistions made by Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman.

11:57: Riley Reiff interview

Vikings left tackle Riley Reiff has had a succcesful first 10 games with the Vikings. Reiff talks about the difference of playing right tackle last season, to moving to left tackle this season.

Reiff speaks about his alma mater in Iowa Football, and explains what it was like to be a free agent for the first time in his career this offseason.* *

18:57: Know Your Enemy: Detroit Lions

Wobby and I review some of the key players on the Detriot Lions roster and make note of some interesting statistics involving the career quarterback Matthew Stafford.

We also take a look at the injury report for both teams heading into the game on Thursday.

27:09: Wobby's Fan Mail

Wobby takes three questions from the fans, including reviewing the Vikings tough three-game road stretch in the schedule coming up and what has caused Minnesota's recent struggles against the Detriot Lions.

32:46: Thanksgiving Day Food Power Rankings

Wobby decides after a few weeks of talking NFL Power Rankings, it's time for some Thanksgiving Day Food Power Rankings.

Wobby brings up his interesting choices  when it comes to his favorite foods on Thanksgiving Day.
