Winter Park Rewind: 9/29 - 10/1

Get caught up on the week that was at Winter Park leading into Thursday's game against the Packers:

Monday, September 29

After a big win against the Falcons on Sunday, Monday was a very busy day both for the team and here on with the short week ahead in advance of Thursday's game vs. the Packers. Mike Wobschall kicked things off as he always does with the Monday Morning Mailbag, looking at several topics, including where Jerick McKinnon fits in offensively after his breakout performance vs. the Falcons.

McKinnon, along with Matt Asiata and his three touchdowns vs. the Falcons, finally found running room as the Vikings try to establish things on the ground minus Adrian Peterson.

With Teddy Bridgewater of course dealing with an injured ankle, the Vikings signed ex-Colt Chandler Harnish to the practice squad on Monday.

Head Coach Mike Zimmer addressed the media over the lunch-hour on Monday to look back on Sunday's win and also provide an update on Bridgewater's injured ankle.

Several players addressed the media from the locker room prior to practice, including McKinnon, who talked about his big game:

This week's Pick 6 Video Mailbag both looks back on the win and also talks about what the Vikings need to do to pull out a win vs. the Packers on Thursday.

NFL Network sent us their weekly report card on the team's play from the week before:

Thanks to the Vikings PR deparment for providing this weekly game preview.

Wobschall looks at five storylines to following heading into Thursday's game here. Take a closer look at just how Jarius Wright was able to catch a Bridgewater pass and run for a 52-yard gain early in Sunday's win via this play breakdown article here.

This week's Ticketmaster Hot Matchup features a pair of linebackers with southern California ties: Anthony Barr and Clay Matthews. Read about that here. Greg Jennings is ready for his second return to Lambeau Field as a Viking.

An X-Factor could be the Packers taking advantage of drive-extending penalties, which they've done a shocking amount of times through the first four weeks of the season. Read about that here.

All four segments from this week's 'Beyond The Gridiron' were posted, including the very cool story of Tom Johnson, who literally played all over the world before landing a spot in the NFL and now of course with the Vikings.

Both Bridgewater and Zimmer gave an update on Teddy's status and some general talk about the Packers during their morning press conferences.

Christian Ponder, who would start on Thursday should Bridgewater not be able to go, talked to the media as well before practice:

NFL Network sent a pair of videos as well: one looking at Bridgewater's vision from the Falcons game, and the other wondering how his mobility could be affected if he plays vs. the Packers:

The big news item of the day was Bridgewater being listed as questionable on the injury report. Also of note, Chad Greenway will miss his second straight game with rib and hand injuries.

With all that in mind, Wobschall looks back at the (short) week that was via 'What We Learned.'

When the team arrived in Appleton, Wobschall talked with CBS analyst Phil Simms about tomorrow's game:

Our new roadtrip feature, as of this year, continued as fans have the chance to vote on who they think was the best dressed player on the trip.
