EAGAN, Minn. — The man with an NFL-leading 12 3-point field goals through the first four weeks of the season has added a threepeat.
Vikings kicker Will Reichard on Wednesday was announced as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 4. He continued a streak of recognition for members of Minnesota's third phase that began with Isaiah Rodgers claiming the honor in Week 2 and continued last week with Myles Price's selection a day before the return specialist was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.
Coincidentally, Price kept that latter award in house since he was the first player to claim it this season after Reichard garnered the honor for December/January.
Reichard drilled all five field goals he attempted Sunday (47, 50, 33, 41 and 29) for Minnesota's 15-10 victory that improved the Vikings to 4-0 on the season.

His 12 successful field goals this season have extended his streak to 31, a run that dates to the middle of last season and is tied with Fuad Reveiz for the second longest in Vikings history.
"Will is constantly finding ways to improve, whether it's the ball striking, going through certain drills to make sure his plant foot isn't too tight," Special Teams Coordinator Matt Daniels said. "He's always looking for ways to make sure he's sticking to a routine and a process that's always consistent to what his standard is."
Reichard also has expanded his toolbox during kickoffs, making returns more difficult for opponents, which has already proven to be helpful in winning field position battles. His final kickoff Sunday landed at the Miami 14-yard line and was muffed briefly before it was recovered at the 17 and returned for 1 yard.
That field position helped Minnesota's defense quickly force a three-and-punt, and the offense maintained possession for the final 5:41 of the game.
Reichard is now the 21st Viking to win an NFC Player of the Week award under Head Coach Kevin O'Connell (since 2022).
According to NFL Communications, the Vikings threepeat is the first by a team since the 49ers in Weeks 15-17 of 2011.
There have been three other instances of a team having a player win three or more consecutive Player of the Week awards. The 2003 Chiefs featured Dante Hall, who claimed the honor four straight times (Weeks 2-5). The 2004 Saints had four different players with highpoints from Weeks 14-17, and the 2007 Chargers put together a run of three from Weeks 8-10, which included Antonio Cromartie's NFL record 109-yard return of a missed field goal against the Vikings in Week 9. That contest is best known for Adrian Peterson setting the NFL single-game rushing record at 296 yards.
