What Vikings 2019 Opponents Did in the 1st Round of the 2019 NFL Draft

EAGAN, Minn. — Trades and multiplicity were the theme for Minnesota's upcoming 2019 opponents in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Vikings will play 13 different teams in the regular season later this fall, and five of them ended up with multiple first-round selections on Thursday night.

A trio of upcoming opponents — Chicago, Dallas and Kansas City — did not have a first-round pick after trading it away at various points over the past few months.

Here's a look at what Minnesota's 2019 opponents did in the first round:

Week 1: Vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons helped out their offensive line in the first round by taking Boston College guard Chris Lindstrom. He started 47 of 50 career games in college and played both right guard and right tackle. Atlanta then added even more help up front, trading up to the 31st overall pick to select Washington tackle Kaleb McGary. He is 6-foot-7 and also started 47 games in college.

Week 2: At Green Bay Packers

Defense was the theme for the Packers, as Green Bay used the 12th overall pick on Michigan defensive end Rashan Gary. He was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection by coaches and was a Second-Team All-Big Ten selection honoree by media in 2018. The Packers then traded to acquire the 21st pick from the Seahawks and add Maryland safety Darnell Savage.

Week 3: Vs. Oakland Raiders

Oakland tied for the most first-round picks with three, and the Raiders added to both sides of the ball Thursday night. Oakland took Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell with the fourth pick, then added Alabama running back Josh Jacobs at pick No. 24. The Raiders went back to defense with the 27th pick, adding Mississippi State safety Johnathan Abram.

Week 4: At Chicago Bears

The Giants began the night with two picks, but ended up with three, which tied with Oakland for the most in the opening round. New York took Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick before adding Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence with the 17th selection. But the Giants weren't done as they traded back up into the first round to snag Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker with the 30th pick.

Week 6: Vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles moved up three picks to the 22nd spot, yet another trade for a Vikings opponent. Philadelphia added Washington State tackle Andre Dillard to help its offensive line. He allowed just one sack on 677 pass attempts in 2018.

Former Vikings quarterback Case Keenum is on Washington's roster, but the team added another quarterback in Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins with pick No. 15. Haskins threw for 4,831 yards (led FBS) with 50 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2018. But Washington wasn't done, trading back into the first round and adding Mississippi State edge rusher Montez Sweat with the 26th pick. Sweat had 22.0 sacks in two seasons with the Bulldogs.

Seattle entered the night with the 21st and 29th overall picks. They traded No. 21 to Green Bay for No. 30, which they later flipped to the Giants for future picks. The Seahawks' lone pick of the night ended up being TCU defensive end L.J. Collier with the 29th spot. Seattle acquired that pick in their deal with Kansas City for Clark.
